F.A.Q.

Below are some frequently asked questions regarding Fibroblast Skin Tightening.

How long does the effect last?
The Fibroblast treatment is technically categorized as semi-permanent. This designation stems from the fact that, while the results can endure for an extended period, your skin will naturally continue to age over time. Consequently, it is common for individuals to return for maintenance sessions approximately every 2 to 3 years.

How many treatments will be required?
The number of treatments needed varies from person to person. Several factors come into play, including the depth and severity of the specific issue being addressed, individual healing abilities, skin type and density, adherence to post-treatment care instructions, among others. Generally, most individuals will require a minimum of 2 sessions for Spot Fibroblast or a minimum of 3 sessions for Jet Plasma to achieve their desired results.

Is the treatment painful?
Fibroblast treatment typically ranges from mildly to moderately uncomfortable. Prior to the procedure, a topical numbing agent is applied to ensure patient comfort, and it may be reapplied as needed during the treatment. Once the numbing agent wears off, it is normal to experience a sensation akin to a mild to moderate sunburn for several days.

Am I a suitable candidate for Fibroblast?
Determining your candidacy for Fibroblast involves several considerations. You should refrain from undergoing Fibroblast treatment if any of the following apply to you:

  • You have a Type VI classification on the Fitzpatrick Scale (consider Jet Plasma treatments instead).

  • You are prone to scarring and/or keloid formation (consider Jet Plasma treatments instead).

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • You have an immunodeficiency or an autoimmune disorder.

  • You currently exhibit severe acne, dermatitis, or eczema in the area intended for treatment.

  • You have vitiligo or any other serious skin disorder.

How long will the carbon crusts persist?
The duration of carbon crusts varies among individuals, making it difficult to provide a precise estimate. In general, most individuals experience the presence of these crusts for a period ranging from 3 to 10 days.

When can I resume wearing makeup?
You may resume using makeup once all of the carbon crusts have naturally fallen off.

What precautions should I take before my treatment?
It is advisable to adhere to the following guidelines for a minimum of 4 weeks before your scheduled appointment:

  • Avoid chemical peels and laser treatments.

  • Refrain from Botox and fillers.

  • Minimize exposure to tanning or intense sun rays. For at least 2 weeks before your appointment, avoid:

  • Benzoyl peroxide.

  • Acid-based products such as Glycolic and Salicylic.

  • Retinols and strong topical prescriptions. Additionally, it is essential to discontinue the use of Accutane for a full year before undergoing the treatment.

It's been over 8 days, and the carbon crusts are still visible. Is there cause for concern?
Not necessarily. As previously mentioned, the healing process can vary significantly among individuals. While some may shed the crusts within as little as 3 days, others may experience their presence for up to 2 weeks. If you have lingering concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via phone or text for further clarification and guidance.
